Susan
Elizabeth Henry
Susan
joined the Peniel staff in March, 1992. Susan studied
with the Royal conservatory of Music, and later
attended the University of Toronto, Majoring in
Music. She has been a soloist for the One Hundred
Huntley Street Television Broadcast and Meetings,
as well as on the staff with Morris Cerullo Ministries.
As a native of Toronto Canada, she developed a
growing burden for the addicted and hopeless lives
of those who were not being reached by the church.
Weekly, she passed hundreds of individuals in the
drug infested community where their church was
located. It became evident that these desperate
lives needed more than their church could provide.
Susan learned of Peniel, and soon afterward traveled
to Pennsylvania with members of her congregation
to experience a Peniel Graduation...and Susan says.
" My life has never been the same. I saw before
me, men and women standing strong and victorious
in Christ." Incredibly, these were individuals
who, like those on the streets of Toronto, had
been bound by the clutches of substance abuse.
In the months that followed, Susan answered the
call of God to join Peniel. Susan came to serve
as part of the clerical staff or in whatever area
there was a need. She had no idea what great things
the Lord had in store for her.
She will never forget the words that Dr. Spellman
spoke into her life, "Give me three years to work
with you and you won't recognize yourself" Learning
true liberty and freedom to worship was her first
breakthrough. Susan grew spiritually, emotionally
and professionally-but her relationship with God
is still the most precious part of her experience
at Peniel.
In December 1994 Susan met and later married the
man of her dreams. Her husband, Bill was on staff
and working in the male program as a counselor.
He continues to be faithful today. They became
a dynamic and anointed couple that faithfully serve
the Lord together.
A year later, Susan was asked to fill the position
of Secretary to Dr. Marion Spellman, where she
continues to serve within the organization. In
addition to
working with the Founding President, Susan is a
tremendous Minister of Music and faithful member
of the Peniel Praise Community Church.
Yes, those words spoken to her by Dr. Spellman
years earlier had indeed come to pass and her life
has been changed and enriched in ways that she
never dreamed possible by her own Peniel encounter.
Rarely do the Spellmans arrive at a meeting that
people do not first remark about their contact
with Susan. Everyone she meets is impressed by
her kindness and efficiency. Peniel Has Not Changed
